Tradition 2: For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority—a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
I apply this Tradition to the Fellowship of the 12 Steps when I honor that none of us is "higher", "better", etc. than another. Whether a newcomer or an oldtimer and whether a sponsor or a sponsee. "We" is the first word in the 12 Steps for a reason.
How I use this Tradition in personal relationships is by putting the Higher Power first in interactions with my life partner, my children, my boss, my siblings, etc. We are in it together, this adventure called "Life". Although we may all have "roles", different responsibilities, functions and authority...the ultimate authority is the Higher Power.
Now, if only I remember this when I really need it!
Dear Higher Power, YOU are The One, the most highest...please help me do YOUR will today. Love, Carol xoxox
