Tradition 4

AA's long form Tradition 4:

With respect to its own affairs, each A.A. group should be responsible to no other authority than its own conscience. But when its plans concern the welfare of neighboring groups also, those groups ought to be consulted. And no group, regional committee, or individual should ever take any action that might greatly affect A.A. as a whole without conferring with the trustees of the General Service Board. On such issues our common welfare is paramount.

Short:

Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole.

How I apply this Tradition to my relationships with finances, self-esteem, fear, work, etc. is I am autonomous except in matters affecting other people, such as my significant other, my job, boss, co-workers, siblings, etc.  Vice versa.

"The right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins."
-- Oliver Wendell Holmes

Dear Higher Power, please help me remember I am autonomous and so are others.  We are One with YOU and separate without YOU.  YOU are the Light that splatters through the crystal  of Life and each of us are like the colored spectrum, important to the Whole.   May I do YOUR will this day.  Love, Carol xoxox
