Well, I finally finished "The Four Agreements" book by Don Miguel Ruiz last night. Fascinating. Yesterday's blog was a rather slap dash affair because Sho called and needed a tool he'd left at the house so I quickly submitted whatever on the blog then drove to the other side of town to take him his tool.
Afterwards I kept nagging myself that I could've, would've, should've done better than just write in such a hurry. Such lack of commitment seemed disrespectful to me and my readership...yep, I can really puff myself up like that! Such psychological drama and actually kind of comedic, too. All because I didn't write a "perfect" blog which is bull-corny because really, when have I EVER written a "perfect" blog and is there even such a thing?
After reading the book last night it is much easier to see when I wrote yesterday's blog that was the best I could do at that time. Sometimes my best is superlative, way up there with the eagles. Then there are times my best may be trudging along with the turtles, one step in front of the other. This is also true of others so maybe it's my best when I can love us all no matter what because this may be the best we can do anyway, just for today?
Anyway I took Elvis with me for the ride. Oh my goodness, he is sooo excited to go for a car ride! He twists and whirls, tap, tap, tapping his fingernails in some wild dervish flamingo dance of delight! Ears perked, facial expression all animated, rapid panting and all because he gets to go for a car ride. So off we went on our adventure and by the time we returned he was done. He'd had enough and he surreptitiously, ever so lightly that if I hadn't been paying attention I'd never have noticed, licked my hand to say in dog language, "Thank you and I love you." He's been relaxed and seems very content. I can learn a lot from my dog.
